Finished: Vogue 8728 – with chevrons!

I’ve been dreaming about this dress ever since the pattern was released several years ago.  I finally got my hands on it at a recent Joann’s sale and I happened to have the perfect fabric in my stash—serendipitous!  The result is as close perfect as anything I make ever is.  More photos of me and my creepy reflection twin below…

Last week my sewing machine and I were reunited after more than six months apart, and I’m doing my best to make up for lost time.  Above is the bodice from Vogue 8728, which has been on my wishlist for years now.  My machine hates this thin fabric and it’s pretty see-through so I probably should’ve underlined the whole thing, but I think it’ll be a nice gauzy dress for summer and good motivation for shortening the beautiful slip I inherited from my Grandma via my Mom this winter.  Full steam ahead!
